Description

Dear ___________,

I received a note from you on December 1st, 2011, regarding the noise level in my apartment. You stated that you live below my apartment in unit 310, and that my vacuuming is disturbing you. You informed me that if I could not reduce the noise level in my apartment, you would contact the landlord.

You characterized my vacuuming as excessive as I vacuum every day. This is because I am severely allergic to dust and pollen and need to keep my apartment very clean. As such, I will not be able to stop the noise you dislike.

I have looked over my rental agreement and the community policies on noise. In the rental agreement that I signed, quiet hours were listed as 10:00 p.m. -6:00 a.m. I have not been vacuuming between these hours, so I do not believe my use of the vacuum was inappropriate.

I have also taken this opportunity to call the landlord and inform him of your complaint. He has stated that I am within my rights to vacuum. You are welcome to contact himself if you so please. I am sorry the noise is bothering you, but nothing can be done. Please let me know if you have any other questions about this situation.

Sincerely,
